Tullamore Show 2018 Results
On a damp morning on the 12th of August 2018 Brian O’Kane owner of the Ravelglen Herd, based in the Glens of Antrim arrived to judge The Irish Moiled Cattle at Tullamore National Show in County Offaly.
The Day brightened as the first class, junior bull entered the ring. First place was taken by “Woodbine Casper”, bred and exhibited by James and Ciara White from Co Wexford, This was a very Powerful young Bull, followed closely by “Mount Brisco Remy” in second place. This young bull is very correct and full of promise and should give his owner Margaret Edgill many happy days in the show ring.
The second class of the day was the senior bull. Won by “Woodbine Billy “a powerful bull with great conformation and Locomotion. He was also exhibited by the White Family from Co Wexford.
The cow class was won by Patrick Ferry from County Donegal with his young cow “Latton Joy “Bred by Paul Ferguson Kiltyclougher Co Leitrim. Second place was again Margaret Edgills with Glassdrummond Cherry 76 bred by Sam Smiley from Co Down.
The Class of the day was the Maiden Heifer class won by James and Ciara White with their exceptional well balanced and strong heifer “Woodbine Bridie . In a very close second place was Alan Mooney from County Kildare with a quality young heifer” Hyland Ivanka” This Heifer merits a special mention and is one to watch next year.
A strong lineout in the championship resulted in ”Woodbine Bridie “being Tapped out as overall Champion completing a great day For the White Family .The Reserve champion was awarded to “Latton Joy” Owned by Patrick Ferry .
These two Champions lined out in the Grand parade and represented the breed impeccably completing a great day for the breed at Ireland’s largest one day show.
